BT Sets

BT sets, or Blood Transfusion sets, are specialized medical devices used to transfuse blood or blood products from a blood bag into a patient’s circulatory system. They are similar in structure to IV sets but are specifically designed to meet the safety and compatibility requirements of blood transfusions. A typical BT set includes a spike to connect to the blood bag, a drip chamber (usually with a larger capacity than standard IV sets), a built-in blood filter (to remove clots and debris), flexible tubing, a roller clamp to control flow rate, and a luer lock or connector to attach to an IV cannula. Some BT sets may also include a Y-site for additional medication administration if needed. These sets are made from materials that are compatible with blood components and are sterile and disposable to prevent cross-contamination and ensure patient safety during transfusion procedures.

Micropore tape

Micropore tape is a type of medical adhesive tape commonly used to secure dressings, IV lines, and other medical devices to the skin. Made from a soft, breathable, and non-woven material, micropore tape is gentle on the skin, making it ideal for patients with sensitive skin or for prolonged use. It is hypoallergenic and allows moisture and air to pass through, reducing the risk of skin irritation and maceration. Micropore tape is easy to tear by hand, adheres well to both damp and dry skin, and leaves minimal residue upon removal. It is widely used in hospitals, clinics, and home care settings for wound care, surgical dressings, and general medical use.
