Needles

Needles are slender, hollow metal tubes used in medical settings to deliver or withdraw fluids from the body, most commonly in conjunction with a syringe. Made from stainless steel, medical needles vary in length and gauge (thickness), with higher gauge numbers indicating thinner needles. They are typically beveled at the tip for easy skin penetration and minimal discomfort. Needles can be used for various purposes such as injections (intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intravenous), blood draws, or fluid aspiration. Depending on the use case, needles may be single-use (disposable) or sterilized for limited reuse. Proper handling, usage, and disposal of needles are essential to ensure patient safety and prevent the transmission of infections or injuries from needle sticks.
